Q & A

What do you want to know about Sri Lankan Male?
~a Three Blind Men image

Is Sri Lankan Male a gay site?

People are gay. Internet sites are expressions of the people who create them.

Sri Lankan male is about expressing appreciation for the physical attributes of Sri Lankan men.

The site isn't about sex, but it is about the men. Anyone attracted to Sri Lankan and South Asian men will probably be attracted to this site. That should include a fair number of Sri Lankan and South Asian men themselves, men and women of all stripes and people who know Sri Lankans personally or have visited Sri Lanka.

Is the notion of being gay a foreign (i.e. Western) concept?

Well, are the telephone, computer and other technologies foreign or Western concepts?

A lot of things emerged first in the West, but that does not make them Western. Technology is something of universal value and appeal, regardless of where it originated.

The modern concept of the "gay identity" may have originated in the West but it is of universal importance.

In every society, every culture and in every age past and present, some have been sexually and emotionally attracted to members of the same sex. It is part of the natural human (and animal) condition.

Is gay culture a threat to Sri Lanka's traditional heritage?

Sri Lanka's traditional heritage is a threat to Sri Lanka's traditional heritage. Heritage promoted as a holy grail which must be preserved is probably the biggest threat to any society.

Society and cultures need to be fluid and able to adapt to the realities they exist in, or else they become irrelevant.

Every so-called tradition had its own beginning in some place and time and was in that day a novel or foreign idea.

Sri Lankan culture at its best...

Buddhism did not originate in Sri Lanka, so why should it be considered essential to Sri Lanka's heritage? Well, it is essential but not because it is in and of itself a Sri Lankan concept.

"Gay culture" is a real phenomenon of the late 20th and 21st centuries and needs to be interpreted and expressed within a Sri Lankan context.

Is it OK to objectify male beauty?

Any individual's beauty is more than skin deep. So any focus on physical beauty (male or female) is admittedly superficial.

But it is inevitable that we objectify those things that strike us as beautiful.

We objectify every manner of physical thing from flowers to the stars in the sky.

There's nothing wrong in this--objectification is just one of the ways by which we acknowledge beauty.

Beauty in whatever its form, inner or outer, is worthy of some manner of expression and appreciation.

Is physical beauty the exclusive property of the young?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So, it isn't ever a matter of exclusivity. But physical beauty in humans is probably largely connected with sexual maturity.

Men are probably at the height of their sexual prowess in their early twenties, therefore this is probably when men are the most attractive to their aficionados.

Does beauty in men mean being muscular?

Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But I think it is those things that tend to be exclusively male that are also the things which are most appealing and attractive in men.

The male physique is naturally more muscular than the female physique so it follows that muscular men would be particularly attractive.

Male beauty is about sexuality and male virility... a naturally hewn physique caught by a Three Blind Men photographer. >>

Facial and body hair are also more commonly attributes of men, so men with a good amount of facial or body hair would appear more manly and thereby more handsome.

And, of course, there is one more attribute that is exclusively male. The more prominent it is, the more seductive the appeal of the man!

Are darker Sri Lankan men better than the fairer ones?

Absolutely! Ok, I have to qualify this answer in order to preserve a sense of objectivity.

Sri Lankan men have a unique exotic appeal which comes from being of darker complexion while having otherwise Asian characteristics.

If we look at the phenotypes across the planet there are a good number of fair-complected races European and Asian, counterbalanced by the dark-skinned African phenotype.

Somewhere in the middle of that come Sri Lankans, the most beautiful of them with the darkest of skin. Adorned with a crown of thick, shapely black hair, dark-skinned Sri Lankan men are like rare black pearls!

So, what really is the point of Sri Lankan Male?

The main idea is to be a resource of images of the Sri Lankan male.

This site might more accurately be titled, The Beauty of the Sri Lankan Male.

It is not a National Geographic type compendium of the Sri Lankan male because its focus is on male beauty.

<< Recent model for Odel, an original Sri Lankan brand.

But it is not a fashion or model site either, as male beauty is more often NOT that which is done up by way of make-up and clothing, but a more naturalistic quality.

Male beauty is, however, often accentuated through the art of body-building. Body sculpting may be a more suitable term.

I cannot, therefore, get away from extolling the virtues of any Sri Lankan bodybuilder, although any extreme form of bodybuilding can begin to distort the notion of beauty.

I also cannot get away from extolling those attractive features in South Indian and other South Asian men who share attractive and exotic features similar to that of Sri Lankan men.

Sri Lankan Male is also about the images as a form of artistic expression.

even documentary photos can take on an artistic quality

Viva the Sri Lankan male!

I used to think very highly of you Upandhi...
but in this post you have clearly been the shallow person which
scares gay men and straight men due to wrong stereotypes about the
male tool! You said that bigger tool
means more appeal,this is false!

Just by seeing the poor male body in one perspective is wrong!

If the tool was so important it wouldn't be an excretory organ!

Please show some respect to men and males all over the world.

Men are humans too!

Hi Darkgoti, you don't have to lose your faith in me. Notice I also said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and beauty is more than skin deep. Clearly, different people are attracted to different things. As for size of the tool, most people never see the size of their partner's tool until they've already selected them. So, tool size is often a secondary matter at best. Let's say its like a bonus, when you've already chosen your guy for other reasons.
