Twenty-Twelve

It's a new year... seems they come and go rather quickly.

Leaving world events aside, what was your 2011 like? Where are you and how was life for you there?

Me... here in Dubai. Life was good, no traumas--I still have my job!

Besides that I can feel good about three nice things:
  1. Finished paying two mortgages, so to speak--they weren't really mortgages and I still have a smallish payment to complete.
  2. Paid a visit to my home country (USA) and family for the first time in 5 1/2 years.
  3. Got a new car! Nothing fancy 'cuz I'm not really into cars... but this one's new and it looks good.
Actually the things we really need to be thankful for are the things that didn't happen--if only we could peer into those alternate universes.

In Dubai we didn't have any earthquakes or any other kind of natural disaster.

That Mission Impossible 4 sand storm thing never happens here in the UAE. But I suppose a freak rain storm could cause havoc, as those things happen sometimes in deserts.

My partner is still with me--like I said, no traumas this year.

And I suppose the list of potential things-going wrong is endless. So, I don't know... is it really possible to be thankful for things that haven't happen? Or, just let it all go--the good and the bad--and start a new year fresh.

Sri Lankan Male... Boyfriend... Lover...
Sri Lankan Male... Boyfriend... Lover...

Vision of what (who) awaits me in heaven?

So, how many of you have a Sri Lankan boyfriend... and where and how do you share your life with him?

This question is for Sri Lankans too, male, female or transgender. Tell us about your partner.

I've got nothing to share on that score myself, unfortunately.

2012 will be a success if it brings me a Sri Lankan lover... anyone out there?

(I'm half-joking... my Indian partner wouldn't like it much if a Sri Lankan prince charming came knocking at the door.)

<< my 2012 wish

You got that now, didn't you... half-joking!

If you're in Dubai, coming to Dubai, or even just want to come... seriously, I welcome any Sri Lankan guys for platonic friendship.

Drop me a line and introduce yourself... any age 20... 40... 60...
All Sri Lankan guys are sweet enough!

Heaven can wait, but I can't!

And for those of you who are a bit shy, or old-fashioned like me, try writing about yourself in the way we used to write letters. Share some details so we can get to know each other before we meet.

Sri Lankan friend, my inbox is waiting.

Poetic Interlude
Ode to Male Beauty

What makes the Ganymede myth so powerful, I think, is not only that he was the perfect epitome of young manhood but that he was so exquisitely beautiful that even Zeus, the heterosexual chief of the gods, was so taken with him, so lusted after him, that he had to abduct him and keep him with him forever.

This despite the protests of Hera, Zeus’ wife.

With Ganymede we have the male form, and male sexuality, but raised to the form divine...
food for thought

In terms of art and architecture, I don't think there has ever been any human society which elevated and depicted beauty in as high a form as the Greeks did.

It is no coincidence or any mere aberration that they heralded male beauty as the most beautiful of human forms, if not the most beautiful form in the universe.

If Zeus were alive in modern-day Ceylon, he would be most contented.

I don't know why it is that today in our more enlightened world, generally speaking, more of us have not come to appreciate the beauty of the male form.

Most beautiful form in the universe?

Why don't we decorate and adorn our state buildings and public spaces with the male physical form as the Greeks and Romans did?

Photos... Pics... Artwork...

I am looking for nice artwork to splash on the pages of Sri Lankan Male in 2012... your photos, friends' photos and images picked up on the web.

But they've got to be images that inspire, impress and stimulate ...the mind.

Pictured in this post are the real thing... Sri Lankan male Gods!

But let me not be fussy. Any pictures you send me need not all be of Sri Lankan men. Indian, Bangladeshi and other young and older men with South Asian features will do. Those who read this blog know, for example, how much I love the men of Tamil Nadu.

The images you send me don't all need to be Sri Lankan... but they do need to be Gods!

Just kidding... beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I've said this before--more than once--and I'll say it again.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Behold:
           Behold:

            simply put, male perfection

Abstract art is beautiful, sometimes. But does it stimulate... does it excite, like the image of a beautiful male?

And when it comes to male beauty, it is hard to say that things like muscles, body hair, full lips and even dark skin are only subjective ideals. We are all attracted, to some extent, to these masculine qualities--whether we are gay, straight, male of female.
What guy--gay or straight--wouldn't see beauty in these images?

You either just admire the physical qualities of these guys, or you want to be like them.

So, many guys--straight and gay--work their butts off to build bodies like these.

The otherwise good looks, these near-perfect Sri Lankan men have, may have something to do with genes, diet, grooming and the like, but looks in addition to the body is something a guy can work at.

Breathe in, girls...

Now some people will need to hold on to themselves as they take in the next couple of pics, because this is what sexy and sex appeal is all about.

Now, girls, I know you especially will love this, but come on, guys, if you are in a shower with one of these guys you will also be stealing glances.

One more time.... guys, too. Take a deep, deep breath!

Wow!
Alright, it's over now. Relax...

Andy Warhol Moment
Express yourself, don't repress yourself

And I'm not sorry
It's human nature
And I'm not sorry
Im not your bitch don't hang your shit on me

You wouldn't let me say the words I longed to say
You didn't want to see life through my eyes
You tried to shove me back inside your narrow room
And silence me with bitterness and lies

Did I say something wrong?
Oops, I didn't know I couldn't talk about sex...
