Whadayathink?
Awe shucks, I missed Valentine's. I mean, I didn't make much of that big day of love. For some of us (most of us?) Valentine's Day is a non-event.
OK, some of us guys and gals get the token chocolate or even a little flower bud from a classmate, family member or colleague. But how many of us are really so lucky as to find ourselves in the grips of romantic love?
Even so, Valentine's Day is one of those little things in life--sometimes sweet, sometimes annoying--which takes our minds off the pressing concerns of life for at least a few moments. That, I have to say, is what Valentine's Day means for me most years.

So, is Valentine's Day for you, or is it a non-event?
What got me thinking on this topic wasn't exactly the calendar, but this new, bright, wholesome looking model for Odel men's wear. He's got a sweet, cupid look about him.
As some readers of this blog will know, I was a big, big fan of the Odel mOdel who sported a David-like muscular physique and made the t-shirts, shorts and underwear he wore seem absolutely priceless.
If you missed that just check him out at:

...or in the several other posts I've done on the former Odel mOdel (☆☆☆☆).

| You certainly are. | ||
So, what do you think of the new kid in town?
He wears the tees, well OK--not at all bad--but I don't think anyone will ever compare with the former Odel mOdel. On the other hand, the new guy has a $1,000,000 smile!

I think you could be so good for me...
Wow... right? So, I am once again a fan of Odel. I am a sucker for a handsome smile. I see Valentine in an expression like his. It is the sort of thing to make you forget the troubles of the world, at least for a few moments.
Back to the point of modeling, the new kid really isn't bad and Odel's tees do look good on him.In fact, I have to say that Odel's tees just look good.
I mean, they do have a good sense for throwing slogans and graphic images on men's tees that make them look really hip.
The colors and cuts, and even the prices are all good.
check 'em out
I know I'm plugging Odel here, but how can you go wrong with a good quality and nicely designed tee-shirt for just $10?
Have any readers of Sri Lankan Male bought anything from Odel?
I have to say that when I comparison shop in Sri Lanka I buy much more from House of Fashion.
But it is Odel's presentation of its ware online that really gets my attention. House of Fashion has no online presence.
A Fashion Shootout
I have to say a bit more about House of Fashion. It is extremely popular for many reasons, and the following blurb puts it well, albeit in understated terms: Popular with both foreigners and locals of every class of society, offering an enormous selection at very affordable prices. Besides clothing, it offers a large range of other items such as toys, sports goods, baby items, bath towels and mats, and even a greater choice for teenagers and adults. It is always a busy place but checkout is very fast and you cannot find a more affordable place.

The itallics are mine, to highlight the fact that while House of Fashion may be unbelievably inexpensive, it is not a discount barn. It is an attractive and classy venue to shop in, the sales staff are plentiful and pleasant, and the check out---OMG--the checkout is like nothing you will have every experienced in a clothing outlet.
It is an amazing spectacle, which exemplifies service and efficiency at its best and ought to be written up in text books as the way to service both the customer and profits.
Those outside of Sri Lanka have probably never heard of these two fashion houses, while in Sri Lanka they are both highly successful and well-regarded. House of Fashion is the place to go for bulk while Odel is the place to pick up the items you need to be chic and trendy or to impress.

But I think that is one of the things that makes Odel special. The essence of the brand remains Sri Lankan, despite its obvious leanings toward Western fashion and sense.
But I digress...

The story here is that there is a new object of attention to grace the posts of Sri Lankan Male. Like his predecessor, he shall go unnamed, but certainly not unnoticed.
My perennial favorite is still the one who is clearly...

How would you rate the new kid on the block?

Well, at first I was gonna say the other guy was better. I remember liking him a lot -- then I clicked on the link, and well, this new guy looks so much more friendly and interested. How could I possibly diss him? The other guy is very handsome, and the way he fills out his sleeves with his big biceps -- woooeeee! But this guy's smile, and the come-hither look in his eyes are so nice I gotta want him in my life.
There was something mysterious and seductive about the old model, especially when you could only see his body filling out the tees or underwear. And then seeing his face, he didn't really have cute boyish looks and seldom smiled--but he still seemed somehow mysterious and seductive. The new kid, however, has a super-infectious smile reflected in his eyes as much as in his teeth. And unlike some great smiles that seem to be locked into a single shape, his smile is attractive along the full-spectrum. He can manage a 100 poses, all slightly different and all drawing you in through his attractive smile.
